Dyason Developments is a privately-owned housebuilder operating in Cambridge and the surrounding area.

In an environment dominated by big developers with profit as their top, and seemingly only, priority, Dyason Developments stands out for being driven by design, value, sustainability and customer satisfaction – with profit being the result rather than the motive. We’re not interested in building hundreds of identical cookie-cutter boxes, but homes with character, which work for our customers and don’t damage the environment, homes which our customers and generations to come will enjoy living in.

Incorporated in 2017, Dyason Developments Ltd is a privately-owned housebuilder operating in Cambridge and the surrounding area. We specialize in brownfield development sites with a ‘difficult’ planning history, achieving planning permissions by meticulous attention to detail in the application process.

Blending the best of modern design with sustainable construction and low running costs, the company’s homes offer value for money and customer satisfaction as priorities. Built up to a standard rather than down to a price, Dyason Developments homes have high specifications and sustainability far above the levels required by Building Regulations.

Led by a small group of individuals with decades of housebuilding experience and a shared passion for doing things right, the company’s aim is to provide joy and long-term satisfaction to our customers while protecting the climate, local flora and fauna.

Chris Dyason

Founder and CEO

With 35 years of site acquisition and property development behind him, Chris rejected retirement in favour of using his skills and experience to start a new business. During his earlier career Chris founded, ran and sold two publicly funded property investment companies and built one of the country’s largest residential management businesses before also selling that.

Dyason Developments is intended to make a statement: to show that building houses can successfully be done ethically, sustainably and with passion, not just with a bulldozer and Lego bricks.

Vince Canning

Development Director

Beginning his career as a Building Estimator, Vince has over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry, progressing through the commercial ranks with a national housebuilder, before joining a regional housebuilder where his departmental responsibilities widened. He joined Dyason Developments as Development Director in June 2022. Vince is responsible for all technical, commercial and construction activities and ensures our high standards are maintained.

Jane Jackson

Operations Director

Jane has worked in various administrative roles within the construction industry for more than 30 years, gaining experience at the grass roots level with a national housebuilder, followed by many years working within her own development company. Jane has excellent and invaluable experience essential to the daily running of our business. Joining Dyason Developments in May 2018 as Chief Operations Officer, Jane’s responsibilities span a wide range – including overseeing office administration and finance, sales and marketing, project coordination and she takes an active role in the future planning of our business.

Martin Barnham

Director

Martin qualified as an engineer but his heart was always in property. In modernising and extending a series of homes he learned all the building trade skills and eventually started a company doing property maintenance and repairs. Having built that into a successful business he sold it and shortly afterwards joined Dyason Developments. Martin is a director of the company and his responsibilities include quality control and after-sales service.

Jackie Day

Project Co-Ordinator

Jackie joined the company in Spring 2024 having worked within the property industry around Cambridgeshire for over 20 years – more recently offering her services on a consultancy basis to a number of industry-related companies. Jackie’s role is varied, but encompasses overseeing office and site administration and accounting functions. With lots of experience, Jackie will be an invaluable member of the team and offer support in specification, sales, marketing and the all-important after-care service we offer to our clients. As the company expands rapidly, Jackie will provide essential all-round support to our close knit team.

Darren Hill

Senior Site Manager

Darren has been in the construction industry all his working life, starting as a carpenter. After completing his NVQ in Construction Management, he then moved to Site Management 20 years ago. He has worked on various projects across residential, commercial, and the industrial sector. In 2017 he won a NHBC Pride in the Job Award for a development in Cambridgeshire. He joined Dyason Developments in 2024 as a Senior Site Manager and is looking forward to being involved in the development of high quality, beautiful homes.

INTERIOR DESIGNER

Our interior designer has 20 years of experience. She has worked for private housing developers designing bespoke houses and show homes, as well as working on a consultancy basis for other developers and private individuals, working to the specific requirements and taste of their design ideas. For Dyason Developments her role is to choose the internal specifications. In addition to this, she is designing the show homes ready for the public to view. Rest assured your future home will have luxury at the heart of it, with a practical design throughout.

COMMERCIAL BUYER

Our buyer adds strength to our team. With 38 years of experience in various roles such as Commercial Manager, Group Supply Chain Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Buying Manager, he has worked for various housing developers acquiring building materials for bespoke design specifications.

His supportive skills help us to acquire the best products and materials to build your new home.

CONSULTANTS

In addition, we have established excellent working relationships with a complete range of specialist consultants for all aspect of our work. Areas such as architecture, structural engineering, ecology, archaeology, arboriculture, highways, drainage and energy efficiency consultants – we readily turn to our team of experts to ensure a smooth and efficient outcome to each and every project.

AFTER CARE PROMISE

With our own in-house maintenance team, should there be any concerns after you have moved in, we are able to turn our attention immediately to any problems and resolve them as a matter of priority. We pride ourselves in caring for our customers – and their new homes. All new homes are, of course, covered by a building warranty, but our pledge to ensure you are more than satisfied with our standard and service is what we pride ourselves on.
